Teaching girls and women to read and write is a priority in Iran. In the past two decades, The Islamic Republic has significantly reduced female illiteracy.

The Flag of Iran. The symbol consists of four crescents and a sword. The four crescents are meant to stand for the word Allah. The 5 parts of the emblem symbolize the five principles of Islam.
